Hi all -

Well , I finally sent back the 14x3" cleaner that Slummit sent me a few
weeks back , as they sent me the flat base when I ordered the drop base
.

Well , the Drop Base arrived today (SUM-239433) and I went to install it
with the aid of the Edlebrock 1/2" spacer as recommended .

What they don't tell you is that when Slummit says dropped base , they
MEAN dropped base !

To get this thing to work , I would need a MINIMUM of a 3/4" spacer .

I could get it on there as it is with the 1/2" , but the upper radiator
hose would be *seriously* squished . I mean , it would be to the point
of the bolt closest to the firewall on the rear bracket of the A/C
compressor eventually (sooner rather than later) rubbing thru the hose
and making me have a bad day .

I would have gotten the Edlebrock to begin with , but I actually prefer
the clean , unspoiled look of the Slummit can . I was also going to get
one of those 360 MAGNUM "Pie Plates" that they have in the MP catalog
and slap it on top for kind of a retro look .

Anyway , point is , this will just not do .

I am going to try and get a 3/4"spacer tomorrow and try again .

Another thing about the Slummit can is that although it has the
knock-outs for the PCV hose , it does not have the nipple (hehehehe) to
go *in* the hole once they are knocked out .

Any suggestions ?

I wanna have this thing on there correctly before I leave for Moroso on
Friday .

And please don't say "Just get a K&N FIPK and quit playin' with it ." .

Thanks !!
