Instead of creating a new "S" bolt, I removed the stock hold down, flipped
it upsidedown, put in a longer 1/4-20 screw in the sheet metal bracket and
re-installed it. Now the bracket is under the top of the aircleaner hat. I
also added 1/4" spacer under the hat )between hat an TB) to mke up for the
bracket thickness. seems to work well AND its easier to go back to stock
config (no "lost" parts...)

Question regarding this setup: does the FABM S-bolt work with the
factory throttle hat? The reason I ask, it seems that a decent
gain could be made by getting rid of the kludgy spacing plate
that comes with the stock setup; it looks from the pictures
(that I saved from the RPM site, thank goodness) that the spacing
bracket covers a good 5-10% of the throttle bore area. It would
seem that your setup, plus an S-bolt on the stock hat, would
make for some better breathing all around without having to
go crazy with a port n' polish.
Any comments?
Have fun,
