If you don't race, leave your rear end alone. 3.55 is a perfect ratio=20
for these trucks. As for what "brand" a 4:10 is...... 4:10 is a ratio=20
- a size. Like asking what brand a =BD" hose is. =BD" isn't a brand -=20
it's a size. You've got a good rearend (that sounded funny -=20
HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!) - leave it be. Remember that you can do ANYTHING=20
yourself - but a ring and pinion setup is somewhat involved and there=20
are specs to check, clearances to assure, ect. I personally would=20
have a shop do it if it was me. BTW - the term "speed" is inaccurate=20
- it's acceleration. Think of gears as a torque multiplier. If there=20
was no speed limiter, my rearend, a 3.21, would be the best for=20
"speed". The 3.92 would be the best for "accelleration". A 10 spd=20
bike is an excellent example of gear ratio operation and theory. 1st=20
gear is a lower (higher numerically) gear - 10th is a higher (lower=20
numerically) gear.

Subject: DML: Need 4.10 info
Hey all,
I want my truck to be fast, but I don't really race. I am
afraid to change my rear because of traction.
When I initially joined the list, Jack had told me if I want speed put=20
a
4.10 in there. I have a 8.25" Rear axle w/3.55, and I know nothing
about this stuff. Where do I buy a 4.10? What
kind of brand is this 4.10? Is this something I can change myself
relatively easy? Should I change my whole rear axle first??
Thanks bunches, (cans of tuna maybe)
