        With all the talk about the SS S10 vs V8 Dakotas I pulled my
Truckin' Magazine in which they picked the Truck of the year.
        The truck GM supplied was the Sonoma Ext Cab clone of the S10. This
truck had the sport ZR8(?) suspension, 4.3 V6, 5spd, etc..... Top of the
line everything. 3yr/36,000 LIMITED bumper to bumper warranty. $19,719.00
list as tested.
        * 175 HP
        * 240 lb-ft torque
        * 3232 lbs curb weight
        * 1/4 mile - 16.84 @ 81.3
        * 0-60 - 10.33
        * 60-0 - 3.36 @ 135ft
        * MPG combined - 17.6

        The Truck Of The Year, Dakota CC R/T, we are all pretty familiar
with. 3yr/36,000 mile Unlimited Bumper to Bumper warranty. 3900lbs curb
weight.
        * 250HP
        * 345 lb-ft torque
        * 1/4 mile - 15.43 @ 87.3
        * 0-60 - 8.35
        * 60-0 - 3.47@137ft
        * MPG combined - 13.4

        So what can we deduce from this????

        S10 is 670lbs lighter, smaller all the way around dimensionally, has
75HP less, has 105lb-ft less torque, worse performance, limited warranty,
stops 2ft shorter (can you say lighter), gets 4MPG better.

        I some how can't buy that my 230 HP 318 will get stomped by a Super
Slug S10.
