Starter Problesm

I tried this once before but don't know if it got out. It's been about
15 years since I have worked on my own vehicles and after getting a quote
on how much it would cost to fix my Dakota I decided to try again. The
problem is most of my tools have long since gone by the wayside and I don't
have any meters to check the wiring. The engine just clicks one time when
I try to start it. At first I suspected the battery and took it back to Sears
where they replaced it. That did not fix the problem. So I guess it has to
be the wiring or the starter. My vehicle is a 1991 V6 with about 86 thousand
miles on it.

Any hesp would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks :-)))
