Good point Kyle. I was thinking about this when I got 'em but at $12.90 a
pair I figured I'd roll the dice and if I lost a few on the trail, big
deal... I haven't done any *serious* off-roading with my Kota yet but my
flaps survived a couple of mild runs so I figure I'm ahead of the game
already.

My Dak is also my daily driver so I'm on the paved road 99% of the time and
all the salt & sand they put on the roads up here in N.E. simply eats the
paint off the rear of all your wheel wells/body panels. Every vehicle I've
owned up here has shown signs of rust and pitting in this location after a
short period of time.

So, to each his/her own, but I'll stick with the mud flaps and delay the
rust!

T.

I bought some mud flaps for my 93 4x4 Dakota and I soon realized that they are
worthless......they DO help contain mud splash up onto the body, but after a
couple trips down a washed out creek and some mild four wheelin I went to wash
my Dak and there was only 2 flaps remaining out of the 4 I bought, so I took
the remaining ones off. If you use your 4x4 save your cash, but if you are a
street 4wheeler(hahaha) buy em and it might keep that harmful dirt from
getting on your precious paint(laugh with me!) :)
