Most of you know about my horrendous MPG on my V8 (11.9 city, 15.7
Hwy,
12.9-13.4 mix), but I've discovered that even towing a 1200# my Dak
still gets
the same MPG (or slightly less). So I'm wondering if I'm just hauling
around
an invisible trailer when I'm not hauling a real one... Go figure.

I have a 1987 V6 3.9L with 173,000 and I get about the same mileage. I
recently left the Navy and traveled from Everett WA to Lewes DE and went
approx. 3,500 miles towing a 1997 Ford Escort (the wife's car
honest!!)with the Dak fully loaded. Combined weight possibly 4,500 lbs.
and I actually got better than average mileage, due I suppose to the
mostly highway miles.

Figure that one out.
