Chris,
Frank is lining up for a "sniffed" dyno run to see if the lean condition is
corrected by the Lucas 270cc disk injectors. So far his Butt dyno says
good, but we need the #s to verify were not setting up for a check engine
light! Jon S's results were similar to mine in that he got no ET
improvement from the 700+cfm unit over his DIY port and polish. No
reduction was verified either, so were heading in the right direction so
far. Ive had the 700+ unit on my R/T for a couple of weeks with the stock
SBEC and it seems to like it a lot now, but it wouldnt work with the JETII
module. With the JET at extended WOT the injectors would "max" and hang
(too long a PW signal + too high a rate) causing a stutter and a lean
condition. If our theory holds, the bigger injectors should compensate for
this, allowing the SBEC to back off the PW and allow the injectors to keep
pulsing and make more HP. Hey at least this shows that the JET is working
at WOT too! Both Frank and I are anxious to get the data, but this adds
about 4 bills to the cost of going with a 700+cfm TB. After all, it just
more air, the fuel has got to come from somewhere...Frank saw a 30 HP gain
w/o the big injectors on his 360, and theoretically the 700cfm combined with
the 270cc injector could make up to 300+ HP,theoretically, We just have to
figure out how...
