In rebuttal to recent scandalous California slander:
Well, before you East autumn folks start whipping on the good ol' West
here, remember a few things:
1) You have 4 nice months out of the year, other than those you're either
freezing or sweating.
2) When your Dak's are frozen into blocks of ice, ours will be playing around
on the beach.
3) When your "Trees" are finished looking colorful they'll be ugly, and ours
will be lush green.
4) While our hills are brown, they at least contrast from the sky, you'll be
seeing white all over.
5) You wish you had anything resembling Mountains to ski on.
6) When Christmas comes and your kids are stuck inside, ours are wearing
shorts and playing
outside with their new bikes, skateboards, surfboards... etc... etc...
7) In the summer you get to take a shower, dry off, and in 5 minutes get to be
as wet as you
were while you were in the shower.
8) There's a reason the population of the US is steadily shifting Westward...
People do learn
on occasion...
How can I compare all this stuff? I spent a couple of years in the
Indiana/Ohio/Kentucky area and while the colors were awesome in fall, it
didn't last long enough and then everything really looked dead (can you say
lunar landscape?) for what seemed an eternity. So enjoy your colors and what
nice weather you may be having, I'll stay right here in CA: nice and warm. So
will my Dak. Maybe I'll take the waverunners out on Thanksgiving... ^_^
