Alan,
I too would have paid more to get more (more HP, more torque) I was
disapointed only because I have gone faster in older chry co products. With
that said, its impossible to go faster in any stock Dakota other than in the
R/T, and its impossible in a current ford offering. Now, if GM had only
bought Chrysler... (talk about love , hate, and high horsepower...)

To start with, I should say that I love everything about the R/T. It
looks good, it handles good, it's just fun to drive. I do stand by my
comments about 360's though, and it might help to know that when I made
the decision to buy an R/T, I really just wanted something FAST. Maybe a
late model LT 4 'Vette or the like. Then along comes Motor Trend
Magazine on TV testing an R/T. It looked so good, I just had to have it,
and the rest is history, and a long story. All in all, if there are
performance enhancements available through the factory for the 360 then
why not employ all of them from the start, especially for a truck
bearing the R/T badge. I'd have paid a little more to go faster than a
318 Dakota. Alan S.
