Hi, all. I just got off the phone with K & Ns tech. support. I
enquired about the FIPK for a new V8 Dak, and he told me that this kit
will be a plastic intake tube with a conical filter, which I think is
like the Chevy kit. He said it will be realeased soon, so I guess it
     isn't out yet.

From what I've seen on this list, some people have FIPKs on their
trucks. I guess these are pre-97s. I was under the impression that the
FIPK is simply an open element filter with an S-bolt. I think Greg is
getting ripped off if he was quoted $150 for what sounds like their
chrome 14"x3" filter. Even in Canada, its only $100. Funny how as soon
as K&N attaches the letters FIPK, the price doubles. The FIPK for a
5.0 Mustang simply consists of a cone filter ($50 CDN), a couple of
brackets and a sleeve to fit in the air tube and they nail you for
     $150. Hmmmmm.

Anyways, my choice for my upcoming R/T is to put on a universal K&N
14x3 filter or make my own air tube with cone filter. Just my 2 cents.
