I have been toying with the idea of clamping the front segment of my leaf
springs. And I was gonna take some old valve covers (dont laugh!!!!!), fill
them with lead, and mount them permanently inside the rear bumper. You will
never see em, but they should help with weight transfer. I heard a rule of
thumb once, that ever hundred punds weight reduction is worth a tenth, but if
you take a hundred pounds from the front and put it in the rear its worth .15.
Once I get my flush mount bed cover, I am gonna mount the battery in the right
rear of the bed. I am also gonna start putting my Dak on a frontal diet.
A/C, Cruise, and some miscellanious brackets are coming out, all in the name
of weight savings. Might even yank out the sway bar and mounts, or at least
make it quick removal for at the race track.
