My friendly advice is: wash it!
Personally, I've always thought of mud splashes as the trophies you get to
display after a good day of playing in the stuff.
But back to your question about the flaps... we just had some of the flat
rubber Mopar mud flaps put on the '98 yesterday. It already had the flares
that come from the factory with the tire & handling package. We haven't had
a chance to test them yet, but they do look like they'll be a big
improvement. Even so, I can't imagine how any mud flap would keep you from
getting any mud anywhere on the truck. You should wash it anyway, because
you're almost certainly going to get it all over the underside.
As for the appearance of these flaps, they look pretty plain (just a flat
piece of rubber). More functional than fashionable.

Anybody know of some really good looking flares and flaps? My flaps just
won't do the job 'cause mud goes all over my 4X4. Just like all the rest of
you I'm really proud to FINALLY have a DAK & I wanna keep it looking good!!
