I know what you mean here,.......my 93 Dakota 4x4 has had 3 front passenger
and drivers side axle seals replaced.......must be a poor
gasket/design........all were replaced under warranty but now at 98,500 miles
I noticed today when putting on a new idler arm/pitman arm that I have a new
leak....nothing I am going to worry about, its just wet, not dripping. I
really dont think a seal leak would cause problems on your Dakota trying to
engage/disengage 4WD.
