Yep, that was me... Let me know if it works. Joel suggested it might be
the exhaust down pipes rubbing and I might try moving them around a bit
next chance I get. This notion makes sense to me (even though I can't
*see* any contact marks on the exhaust) 'cause I installed headers on mine
and I suspect those down pipes ride just a hair lower with the shorties
installed.
Do you have headers on your 318 or are they still the stock manifolds?
Anyway, I'll shoot up a flair if I find out anything.

Someone had noticed a problem with noise up front after installing new
skidplates. I think I know what was going on, since I just had the same
problem when I re-installed my skidplate under my new front diff.
Drum roll please...
The skidplate is contacting the bottom of the diff. Mine would only do it
under acceleration, when the frame evidently flexed enough to put them in
contact.
The fix? The front skidplate is pretty beefy plate steel. I think I´m going
to take a torch to mine to relax the steel a bit (it´s pretty beat up) and
take a really big hammer and beat on it.
