   I'm not sure what Mark did, but I've made 2 of 'em so far. The first
time, I bought a "U" bolt at a hardware store in the right thread, and
unbent it into an S shape, then trimmed it with a bolt cutter. You could
also use a piece of threaded rod (available at most any hardware store)
but I used the bolt because there was only thread at each end, and the
middle was "solid".

  The second time, I bought a piece of rod at a hardware store, bent it,
and used a die to cut the threads.

   I prefer the second method; its more work, but the end result looks a
lot nicer and is stronger.
