Bernd,

If you don't mind my asking, what was the cost for your gear swap out?
Since you mention the off-roading, I'll assume you have a 4x4 Dak, which
means you had to change the front and rear gear sets?

I've been considering doing this to my '95 4x4 (tires also switched to
30/9.5/15 from the 235 stocks), the cost for changing out one set of gears
doesn't bother me, but getting into two swaps seems like it would get costy.
Any info. comments you could provide would be appreciated.

I had originally ordered my '97 Dak with the 3.55:1 Posi unit. Nice highway
cruising but the acceleration really sucked. (Stock 245's). After
switching to the 3.92:1 Posi...mileage actually got better and the
acceleration improved immensely. (I now am running 31" BFG's and use it
offroad whenever I get a chance..so mileage isn't a consideration
anymore...but it was definitely worth it.)
