If you run a "Hotter" coil, try setting the gap on your plugs a little bit
larger (.005 - .010"). If it runs worse with the larger gap, put them back
to stock.
I've had great luck with the MSD-6A (Offroad) Box and the MSD Blaster-SS
Coil. I run SplifFire Plugs (gapped @ .040") and MSD Wires. So far, i've
increased my mileage a little bit (about 2mpg) and have a much smoother
acceleration (and even the idle smoothed out as well).
Check into the Accell coil if you don't want to cut/modify your existing
harness.
