Hello
I just bought a 99 Dakota Ext. 4x4, with a 3.9L Auto. I took off the
factory 235-75-15's, I tryed put a set 33x12.5x15's but as I expected
there a bit too big. Rubbing the frame when cutting the wheel hard, due
to width. But seem to have enough room around the wheelwells.
What I'm wondering is how large of a tire will fit without any changes,
and how they will effect milage/perforance. I'm doing a fair bit of
highway driving and my milage is in the 14 mpg range. I'm asuming this
is due to the tires? What do you suggest?

I have a 98 4x4 with the factory 31x10.5x15 tires on it. I have not had any
clearance problems.Did you try to raise the torsion bars for clearance?
You didn't say what ratio you have so I not sure how they will affect your
performance.I have a V8 with the 3.92 gears and perfomance is not a problem.
