Uhhh...YES you can change the speedo gear on the Dakota. I had to change
mine when I changed from 3.55:1 to 3.92:1 gears.

Standard Port speed on PC's a Maximum or 15.2K. (This is a limitation of
the 16550UART.) As for the PC connection, I wouldn't even worry about the
port speed unless you're running a machine with a 16450UART (Max
Speed=19200). Even then, it's highly unlikely that their Serial connection
speed is above that.
