My Dakota has 3.55 and came with stock P215/75R15 tires.
Using the DML Wheel and Tire calculator, the P215/75R15
has approximately a section width of 8.46", a sidewall height
of 6.35", overall height of 27.7" and circumference of 87.01".
At the moment, I am planning on running BFG drag radials,
either P235/60R15 or P275/60R15, on 15x8 rims.
The P275/60R15 has a section width of 10.83", a sidewall
height of 6.5", overall height of 27.99" and circumference of
87.94". This would give me an effective gear ratio of 3:51.
TireRack's price is $140 each.
The P235/60R15 has a section width of 9.25", a sidewall
height of 5.55", overall height of 26.1" and circumference of
82". Effective gear ratio would be 3:77. TireRack's price
is $135 each.
My personal decision will depend a combination of factors:
estimated hp and torque after I have completed my mods, the
traction factor and rear wheel clearance.
One thing, for sure, ... you will need at least 8" rims.

Good luck.
