I was looking at my Transgo kit's instructions and there is a modification
you can do to the OD bands to extend the life. I don't recall exactly what
it is but it involves removing the trans from the vehicle. Sounds like one
of those "pay now or pay later" deals.

                DML,
After seeing the pile of transmissions and converters behind
my dealer's
service bays, I was thankful for the 10year 100K mile
warranty I bent over
for. Of course, my R/T doesnt buzz and is dry as a bone at
the rear tranny
seal (13K miles and counting).... @ 13K/year Ill hit the
100K before the
                10years, but thats O.K too! I expect a torqueflite 727 or
904 to last at
least 160K miles, but I was leary of the 4spd autos from the
git go. I have
read that once they are "beefed up" they are just fine, but
stock is a
little wimpy...I figure between paint defects and tranny
woes the warrantly
                might pay off!

If it will make you feel any better, Chrysler has issued a
TSB to its
dealers concerning this noise, they call it A buzz, they even
have what they
call a buzz kit to elliminate it,trouble is,it don't work,.
they have the option to install this kit or change the
entire valve body,i
got the new valve body,it did work long enough for me to
drive home .
they were very concerned the first time i brought this
up,now it's tough
                shit.....
I did a little background on this tranny and found out there
average life
span is about 40000-60000 miles, then bend over and pay 1700
+500 for the
tourque convertor, what i suggest to anyone with the 4-speed
overdrive
auto, and the rt does it also, is to call chrysler customer
service,the
number in your owners manual, they will start a afile on
your vehicle, give
you a file number and listen to your complaint ,then if the
thing down the
line starts to take a crap they will cover it even to some
extent when it's
                out of warrenty.
I really wish that someone would slap me around and
convince me that this
is not a problem, but with my baackground of being a service
mechanic for
Roadway Express,ABF,Yellow Freight,ARA, and Rayne water
systems for 12 years
just goes to show you I dont know shit....
I have also had various transmission shops listen to
this,they all tell me
the same thing.THIS IS NOT NORMAL.GOOD LUCK ,LET ME KNOW
WHAT HAPPENS
