Another reason to rent and not buy the modem is if anything happens to it ,
they pay for it , versus if you buy it , and say if lightning hits it ,
it's your problem .

Well , this may work for some places , but not for others . It depends on
what type of cable plant they have , positive or negative trap , and if it
is addressable .
