you. In the end, all you have is a letter of complaint to DC or to your
consumer affairs board. Since no money is involved, you can't expect much
from court action. However, if you were hurt because of the condition, then
the dealer could be civilly and/or criminally liable.
Tell your Dealer that you routinely drive in Montana (no speed limit) or on
the I-15 to Las Vegas (speed limit 75) and that you'd like him to drive your
truck at 80 mph on a dyno (the only legal way they can test the truck at that
speed) and check for vibration.
DC is a NATIONAL car company and dealers are required to follow laws for
each state. For example: a California Dealer may remove your California
Emissions package if you sign a waiver stating you will not be registering the
vehicle in California (some may require current "other" state registration).
Or in this case, if a California registered car had some problem with it's
emission components, an Alabama dealership would be required to repair the
vehicle to California emissions standards even though the car is in Alabama.
As long as Montana doesn't have any speed limits, vehicles will be required to
run safely in a straight line up to their maximum design speeds. Since the
Daks have a speed limiter at 115, it could be argued that that is the maximum
design speed.
---original message---
Well, not having much luck with my dealer on getting my driveshaft
replaced/balanced. Still got a hell of a vibration from about 80mph
and up. Dealer says as long as the truck doesn't vibrate at 70, there
is nothing he can do because thats the speed limit....hell, I asked
him if he didn't think it was vibration sligthly at all speeds and
maybe that is why I have had two trans leaks so far....
Anyway, I have searched for TSB's etc...but none can be found on
this...I'm gonna try another dealer this week, but was wondering if
anyone had any suggestions...I'd have it balanced myself, but I still
¨ @ @ ¨@˘¤haven't found a shop in Alabama (birmingham) that does
that....lucky
me. Any ideas?
TIA
