Changing the vehicle configuration from OEM could be used in a case of
"voiding the warranty". The Dealer doesn't have to prove anything it you've
replace the manifolds, ignition, induction, etc. with anything other than
OEM. (California is even tougher on this because of the smog laws.)

Personally, I don't agree with it either...but I've had 5 dealers tell close
to the same thing. It's seems to be at the discretion of the dealership.
(High Performance "Goodies" for any vehicle always come with this problem.)

I noticed the thread still says: "Pinging". Changing the exhaust manifolds
to headers is definitely the wrong thing to do for this case. As I said
before, if there is a problem with the operation of engine (in this case
pinging), check all the basics before swapping parts. TSB's, Plugs, Wires,
etc.
