San Diego DML meet (was: R/T + More)

My vote is to include Palomar Mtn... I haven't been there in ages, but
remember the drive up as being a fun one! I've done the PB and Mission Beach
(the roller coaster is way cool-- love the wooden ones!) I'd love to see
Coronado again as well...

Others who haven't been to San Diego might be interested in Sea World or the
zoo & animal park-- a bit touristy, but I still go every now and again when
I'm down your way.

Keep me posted-- I had to miss the last Cali DML meet and would love to make
it to this one!

What part of LA are you located?? (Glad you got your truck!)

Planning another DML meet here in Southern California...
You should attend (when plans are finalized).

I am trying to get an itenerary setup (Similar to Shauns efforts
back in January-- thanks again Shaun).

Something like start at Oceanside in the early morning, go down
the coast, through Del Mar, down into La Jolla (numerous places to
stop and look at the ocean/waves) Continue down to Pacific Beach (PB to
us locals), and Mission Beach.. Ride the Roller Coaster (Wooden!).
Head over to Old Town for Lunch, and go to the San Diego Mission
(that's why they call it Mission Valley)... Drive over the Coronado Bay
Bridge, and checkout Coronado... Then head back over the Bridge to
Downtown... Have Diner at either (Dick's Last Resort, Croce's (Jim
Croce's restaurant), Hooters!, DAKOTA Grill!, or other's in the
Gaslamp area-- the 'spot' in San Diego on the weekends.)

We can top off the evening with a trip to the Comedy Store or something
like that.

Other ideas include a trip to Palomar Mtn. to see the Hale Telescope
(formally worlds largest, big still the worlds largest single 'lens'
telescope).. A good twisty drive in northern San Diego county...
Julian... Antiques galore/apple pies/honey/you name it in this small
tourist town in the local San Diego mountains...

Bruce, Martin? Any more ideas?
