That sucks. My 93 has 101,500 miles on it and the ball joints are still fine.
I did just replace the idle arm myself at 98,000 miles; $45 and about 1 hour.
The idler arm is easy to do replace. The new idler arm has 2 zerk fittings
instead of the stock arm which has 1 fitting. Do you grease your fittings
regularly??????
