I think this has to do with the light within the larger lens is spreading
out before it goes through the glass dot . On the older , smaller lens , it
is more concentrated and there isn't so much red color to overpower the dot .
I believe that if you place them correctly on a new vehicle thatthey can
look pretty good . This would mean making sure that the dot is directly in
front of the bulb , which in some cases may not be the most asthetic
location .
