According to my dealership, the painted bumpers are prepared the same
way that the chrome bumpers are. The paint does not like to stick to
the bumper because of the primer used. Both my '92 and '97 peeled.
When I bought my '97, I made the dealership repaint them. He was not
too happy with me but he knew that he would not get the sale.
