        DMLers

I bought my 1997 Dakota Sport Club Cab, 5.2L, 3.55 gears, auto.,
air in Feb. of '97. Since then, about 15,000mi, I've only put
in
a dropin K&N filter, installed a dual rear exit Gibson and a
'96 MP computer as far as performance mods are concerned.

I plan on doing the following performance modes shortly. Any
        comments/suggestions/experiences/criticisms with each or all
the mods will be most welcomed. My goal is to see what are
the best 1/4 mi. times I can obtain with these (I do have
figures
in the back of my mind). It is not to be faster than anyone
else
...if that was my goal, I'd spend the time/effort/money
        on my '70 Challenger.

These are the mods that I am looking at implementing.

        1. Install the MP R/T Magnum cam kit.

        2. Install the MP hi-po valve springs.

        3. Install 1.6 roller rockers, either from MP, Crower, or Comp.
Cam.
[It's my understanding that you would want to go to 1.7's
only if
the OE cam. was not changed i.e. either change cam size or
rocker
             size, not both.]

        4. Install MP header kit.
[I want the Y pipe included but am not too happy that they
are
             chrome plated.]

        5. Run BFG drag radials (probably just below 28" outer
diameters on
            stock 15x8 rims.

        6. Install B&F TB Stage II, when ready.

        7. Upgrade air intake system, either with FIPK Gen II type or
open
air type (possible with a cowl hood or ram air system).

        8. Replace '96 MP computer if anything else shows up ...
install
aftermarket tach., water temp. and oil pressure gauges in
mean time.

I've decided not to change the Tstat or change to electric fan
for the
        time being.

If anyone responds, please include your reasons to your
suggestions/
        comments.

        Much appreciated.
