I can think of 1 reason to wait a while...Synthetic is such a good
friction reducer, the engine won't break in if you replace the oil with it
right away. I did my first oil change (with dino oil) at 1,000 to get rid
of break-in particulate, then at my first scheduled (3000 miles), I
switched to Mobil 1. A lot of people recommend waiting until the second
(6000 miles) to switch, but I decided not to wait....it's all your choice.
