I'm just curious why do you need to repaint your truck? that aside- I don't
think you would be able to get away with paying less than 1000-1500 for a
paint job worth doing. You're probably quoting the MAACO special or ABRA
auto body or some other shop like that.. before you paint your whole rig, do
some research. You don't want to mess up the paint cause it'll obviously
show right away.. but the other things might be a better purchase in the
meantime..
P.S. I think the tires might be a bit more depending on what size you have
now. (Mine are the 31" ones and I would guess new ones would set me back
150-200 EACH!!

Subject: Re: DML: Performance Improvement Ideas
My parents upped my budget to $1000, but effectively lowered it by doing so.
I now have to pay to get my truck painted (so now I will get a dark blue,
and hold off on the two white stripes up the top, like the ones on the cool
looking Viper paint jobs) and for the tires. I found a place that will paint
for $275, and I am sure decent tires will cost me $250. That leaves me w/
$475 to spend. I am thinking I should get the following items, based on what
you all have mentioned the most:
1) K&N Air Filter ($29 from www.dccarcare.com)
2) K&N FIPK ($110 from same place)
3) Walker Dynomax cat back exhaust system ($125 not sure if that includes
labor, or if I can put it on myself)
4) Trans-Go Shift Kit ($100 - Mine shifts a 2100 RPM, and that kills me, so
this is on thing I am definitely getting)
5) 180 Thermostat ($20 w/ coolant and water)
6) Use the $50 thats left, plus next weeks pay check ($300) and use to buy
mopar computer, and 93 octance gas, which is about 93 cents a gallon.
