i just got back from my dak's first long haul (atlanta, ga to cinci, oh) and
as the discussion has been on gas mileage i thought i'd give y'all mine.
i've got a 97 RC sport dak, manual tranny with the 3.9L V6, only mods so far
are a k&n air filter and i cut the snorkel off the airbox, plus an extang
tonneau cover. i usually get about 18mpg on my commute to work (which
includes highway and around town miles). on my trip i averaged 22mpg. it's
450 miles both way, took about a tank of gas each way, travelling at about
75 mph. i was REALLY happy to get this kinda mpg, and i had no probs with
hills or winds or anything else. i'm ordering one of tony's quick d air
intakes, and i'll give you guys some more info after the rockingham dml
meet, on how it changes my mpg.
