Saturday Night Spank

After changing my differential fluid and adding the steel lowering
blocks it was saturday evening before all was done and time to check
the ride out. So I cruise downtown fill the tank up halfway and head
to the freeway on ramp. About 1/2 mile down the road a 98-99 firebird
screeches up to a stop sign and watches me cruise by. Did that thing
say Trans Am on the side?? To dark to tell, but it was nice. He pulls
out and comming up fast, sticks the nose of that firechicken almost up
my tail pipe and way past my comfort zone. Disrespect no bonafide Dak
driver let alone DML'er could stand!
Ok I thought, you wanted to test 'er out. Here we go....I go to the
yield sign at the freeway on ramp and do a 10mph roll to see if he's
gonna yield. No way, he's at my tail pipe again so I floor it. The
manual shifts to 2nd with a loud screech on the tires and he's not
hangin',then to 3rd with a hard chirp and he's starting to fall away
fast. Wow....4th and this guy is 5 car lengths back. 5th, I shut it down
at about 90 and this guy is so far back he can't read Dodge on my
tailgate.
I slow down and the firechicken cruises by SLOWWWWWLY....eyeballing my
truck. I fully expected to have been blown away and I'm sure if it had
been one of those 320hp V8's, I would have. So it wasn't a good test
after all, but its a spank on someone who needed to have more respect
for our Dakotas. He has that now, mission accomplished.
