These devices are for cars/trucks that use the computer to control the
shifting. Don't know about the newer Dakotas, but on my 95 the computer
doesn't control the shifting.
My 96 Impala the computer does control the shifting and I know a few
Impala owners that have installed these devices and they work pretty
good. With the throw of switch you can firm up the shifting while
driving.
