Well, I took my truck back to the dealer today about the "popping out of 1st
gear."
After waiting about 15 minutes for the service manager (he was busy test driving
another
customers car) he took my Dak for a spin. We took the truck on some back
roads, and he duplicated the problem 3 times, in about 2 miles worth of road.
Needless to say, my Dak is going into the repair shop next week (and its only 10
days old!) He's not sure what Chrysler wants him to do, fix the defect or
replace the tranny. I'll know when I take it back to the shop next week.

Also, while I was waiting for the service manager to come back, I was nosing
around the bed, and I noticed about an inch long crack in the paint, along with
a slight upward dent. It looks like someone was pounding on the underneath of
the bed. They're going to repair the paint, but as far as the dent, he's not
sure. He looked underneath the truck and the dent is at the same spot where
the mounting bolt brackets were welded to the bed. (in front of the passenger
side wheel well.) I think I should insist they repair the dent (I know it
sounds like I'm being anal, but it is only 10 days old!), what do ya think?

BTW, I took my dak for 2 highway trips this weekend, and compared to everyone
elses mileage reports, I think I might be ahead of the game...

Trip 1 (to Philadelphia, PA) 75miles each way, 17.8 and 18.3 MPG on the
return.
Trip 2 (to Harrisburg, PA) 100miles each way, 17.9 and 17.8 MPG on the return.

No average speed to report, but stayed mostly between 55 and 72.
