Yeah, I dont get that either. Ive got 4.10 gears and that just makes it
worse if you jump into it!

I can't explain why but I have found the same to be true. I had a 68 Valiant
with 318, 3.23 posi and 4 sp and it would burn em all the way through 1st and
2nd and a good chunk in third and fourth. I then got a 69 340 Dart with 3.91
and 4 speed and had a lot less traction problems . I would get some spin but
had it under control much quicker ?????????
