Chris,
55mm will require new bearings and plugs for the current bearing bores. @
53 mm you are into the bearings. Our biggest diameter bore with a very thin
wall left at the bearings is 51.4 mm. Stock bore center line seperation is
54.026mm. If you bore each "hole" to 55mm you will end up with one big
funny shaped hole. Sooo you gotta reset the centers, (stage II has centers
set to 54.356mm) when you do that, you start running into the bearing bores
in a big way. Also, @ 55mm you will cut into the hold down bolt holes at
the top of the TB if you try to radius the inlet, and a sharp edge inlet
will reduce flow so thats not very good.... Id shoot for a 53mm bore max
to avoid redesigning the bearings. On 95 and earlier TBs, you cant go too
big due to the above problems + the vacuum ports above the throttle plates.
Cut too much and youve got no vacuum port and a biiig leak... email me off
list if you want and we can discuss the issues with boring these guys out!

Subject: DML: where to get throttle bodies

Does any one know where to get throttle bodies for the RT's at a good price,
the Dodge dealer wants $300 for a new unit. Once I find one it will under
go a little boring out experience, I am shooting for a 55mm throttle body
when I am done, but I am not going to take the chance with mine.
