No special technology needed. As long as you don't open up the outboard carbs
and keep it between 55 and 65 you get 18 to 20 miles per gallon with a 69 1/2
Road Runner. I witnessed this as a shotgun rider and backup driver on a trip to
Mopar Nationals 2 years ago. My 340 six pack T/A will also get 20 miles per
gallon on the highway so long as I can keep from opening up the 6 pack. Remember
these cars only run on a 2 barrel when cruising at highway speed. ( required Dak
content; I also have a hard time not opening up the throttle on my R/T and the
gas gauge drops just as fast as my 6 pack. Best mileage out of my R/T so far has
been 15.4 mpg. )
