The 1503 sounds just like the 1501. Mine has a slightly dropped base and
did not require changing any hoses. If you would like me to take some
measurements from the baseplate for height and clearance, just let me know.
I'll be glad to do it.

I'm planning on going with an open element on the '97 Dak.
Someone, on another list, posted that the 1503 was a low
profile FIPK that K&N has put out for the Dodges, '94-'97 Rams
and Dakotas.

The 1503 looks to be a 14" x 2.75", has an S-bolt and a
connection for the hose from the manifold. Whether the hose
will connect right up to the connector in the base plate or
whether a piece of hose will have to be bought, I'm not quite
sure. It will require that the upper rad be changed or altered.

How does the 1501 differ from the 1503? TIA.
