Joe
I just was looking through my owners manual and it indicates that when
the bi-level setting is chosen, AND I QUOTE Outside air flows through
the outlets located in the instrument panel and floor. The A/C may be on
END QUOTE. I believe that it will depend on where your temperature
setting is at (bottom dial) as to whether the A/C is on or off
all the way to the cold side on the bi-level setting should turn the
A/C, on and if you choose all the way to the hot side the A/C should be
off. One other little note is that when the setting is in defrost mode
the A/C will cycle on and off, this is used to dry the incoming air to
defrost the windows quicker.
Hope this helps
