No expert here but I recently purchased a HP TC from Pro Torque
(www.protorque.com I think ) They were very good a t replying to my questions
and after having a ton of problems with the one I bought from TCI (didn't fit
and couldn't get any response to resolve it. Junk compared to the Protorque
anyway, at least to look at) The protorque comes with a 30 day satisfaction
full refund guarantee and a 1 year defect warrantee. I have it installed but
am still waiting on Mopar Performance to get in the valve springs that they
stole from my order before I can put the engine back together to try the TC.

What they do is modify the angle of the fins and the stator in the TC which
raises the Stall speed of the TC (similar to being able to rev up a stick and
pop the clutch) also the changes allow for more of a multiplication factor
giving more torque especially at low end. I was told that you should see a .3
to .5 improvement in 1/4 mile times IF you can get the traction to hook it
up. Precision Industries makes a TC called the Viper which is a 9" with a
adapter plate and they say .5 in the 1/4 plus but with the adapter costs
about $900 where as the protorque was $400.

Someone else on the list installed a Perofrmance TC and was raving about it
but never heard if they made it to the track and got any numbers for
improvement.

Protorques site has quite a lot of info, check it out.
