Your question of 2wd vs. 4wd is a valid one and the statements made
previously have been valid. The true question is what do you want? Are you
looking for a vehicle to race against others? Are you looking to haul
things? Are you looking to go back country or out in farm fields? A truck
is a truck. If you have need for 4x4 then by all means go for it and forget
about any trade offs because it is designed to do what it does, go off
pavement. If you are looking however to simply run around town and haul
stuff, or zip down the road then get a 2wd. If you don't need the extra
gear don't get it. It cost more to maintain, adds weight to the vehicle and
raises the center of gravity which causes more roll in the corners. I don't
mean to get preachy, but people need to understand what they are buying and
driving. Too many people get in too many accidents because they drive
vehicles they don't need to and don't understand. It all comes down to a
4x4 is a 4x4 and a street truck is a street truck.
