My own private MTX Hell

Let's see, where do I begin?
My wife ordered the MTX Thunderform from Crutchfield on May 19th for my
birthday on the 27th. It was backordered and no one had any idea how long
it would take to get one, so they said that when it did come in they would
upgrade the shipping to next day free of charge. I called periodically to
check the order status and on June 10th Crutchfield said it had shipped out
at 12:01 AM that morning (so I should get it on the 11th, right?). It had
been shipped standard 2nd day and with the weekend, it didn't arrive until
today (Monday). Oh well, it's here, I'm excited, lets put that baby in!
Hmmm. The bolt holes don't line up. Not only that, some of the bolts
aren't quite long enough. And what's this? The rear side panels no longer
go back where they belong because the T-Form is about 1/2" taller than the
stock tool tray. This will require me to trim 1/2" off the bottom of the
panels. Oh, joy. And, to top it all off, I took it to a local stereo shop
to have an amp installed and they discovered that one of the subs was dead!
Not only that, but the subs weren't even wired up inside the box! They
finally got the amp installed, bolted the box down from underneath the cab,
and stuffed the empty sub-hole with poly-fill (until I can get a replacement
sub) and it now sounds just OK. Yes, I have bass, but it's not quite what I
expected. Wish me luck getting the sub replaced in a timely manner.
