I've got a Cherokee CM-10+ under the dash, and a 4-foot Firestik also.

There are essentially very few differences between the more popular modern
sets. They're all based on solid-state circuits, getting rid of crystals
and therefore tuning problems that others might remember from the early
days of CB.

The single most important thing when buying a CB is the antenna. The sets
are relatively uniform, but the gain from a good antenna will give you that
extra 'oomph.' Don't succumb to the idea that buying an expensive set and
a cheap antenna is a winning combo. Compare those gain numbers carefully
when shopping antennas.
