Not to one up ya, but what about this. I got caught in the end of the month quota that they supposedly don't have. I was on 495 (LIE) in the HOV lane on 7/30/99, with my brother in the truck. I passed by a cop going 55 mph. The cop pulls behind me and follows me for 2 miles, then turns on his lights. He comes to the window and I say "how can I help you?". He tells me I didn't see your seatbelts when you passed me. I'm thinking how can you tell? He was parked in the split of the center wall and facing the other direction. I did have it on and I showed him. He said "OK, let me see your license and reg" 10 minutes later he comes back with a ticket. I said "what the H*** is this for" his reply " I am not going to argue with you, just plead not guilty, and have a nice day". Plead not guilty to what. I have no idea what the ticket is for. The only reason he followed me is because pickups are supposed to be Commercial vehicles. I have a club cab, so I registered it as!
a passenger vehicle. If the cop ran the plate it will come back as a suburban. I think he thought I had stolen plates. Once he saw that everything was legal, he should have let me go. The ticket can't be for the seatbelt because my brother would have gotten a ticket as well. The cop said that he didn't see our seat belts(plural). The ticket only has a section and subd# on it but with no description of the violation. I am on the war path now. I sent letters to the police head quarters and to the ticket bureau. I will fight this to the death. You car pool to reduce traffic and pollution and this is the way they say THANK YOU.
