Synthetics

I have a '99 CC 4x4, automatic, 3.55, 5.2L Dak with the heavy-duty
service and electrical group.

I am very interested in changing over all my fluids to synthetic.

My question is this... what are considered the best synthetics to use?
Where can I use synthetics (oil, power steering, auto trans,
differential)?

I would like some feedback on what I should, shouldn't, or can't do.

I remember reading that synthetics can help reduce friction and heat
build-up better, as well as some other improvements (that I can't think
of at the moment). The negatives I have heard are gasket leaks and such.

Any helpful comments please?

thanks,
