oops.. forgot to address gasket leaks... I have ONLY seen this problem on
high-mileage engines... I have an '88 Samurai with 93k... it leaked when I
tried to switch... an explanation that I have heard is that after running
conventional oil for so long, there are sludge deposits that mask weak
seals/gaskets... the synthetic cleans these up, exposing the weak points...
and the synthetic is a little more slippery to slip through weak seals....
I've run Mobil 1 in a '68 Charger 383 (after rebuild), an '89 Chevy Corsica,
a '96 and a '98 Dodge truck, a '95 Neon, an '86 Nissan pickup... and
probably some others I can't remembe... some of these WERE switched at 80k+
miles with no problems... but it can happen.
