Here is what I have found on MPG with my 98 R/T Club Cab :

Engine mods :
180 stat
14x3 FABM
Brass Cap and Rotor
Magnecore Wires
Mobil 1 Full Synthetic

This is what the truck runs with every day on the street .

I took a trip to SOuth Florida last September . The truck had about 8K
miles and driving between 75-85 without the AC on , I got about 15.5 MPG .
On the way home I ran about 70-85 with the AC on and got less than 15 .

Thanksgiving of 98 I drove to Southwestern VA (about 650 miles) and
purposely drove *NO FASTER* than 60 MPH to see how good I could get my MPG
. I ran the truck almost all the way empty on a tank at a very steady 60MPH
and got 20.5 MPG on my first tank , and something like 21 on my second .
On my way back , I drove normally , around 75-85 , and again ,my mileage
dropped back around 15-16 . The AC was not on during either of these times .

I have continually found that , and I presume this is due to the gearing
,that if you keep the truck at 60 MPH on the hiway , for a real long trip ,
without using the AC , you *can* see 20 MPG .

At 60 MPH the truck turns right at 2000 RPM in overdrive , as soon as you
get over 2000 RPM , the MPG drops exponentially .

I usually see around 13-13.5 in town if I take it easy .
