I am ordering the PCM from John, but have one question.]

My 99 4X4 5.2 pings like a diesel. After trying everything from rerouting
the wires
to Champion truck plugs to new Jacobs wires I have been told that the
problem
is that my computer is retarding my timing to much. Will this new PCM
advance the timing as well as the other tweaks it does to increase HP?
I wouldn't mind spend the $$ if I could get rid of that pinging.

Bob,

Unless I've got my chicken-scratch mixed up, this should be the part #:

5007069 It's either the PCM for that app or the cold air intake.

FWIW, Earnhardt Dodge claims to be the largest dealership in the US,
which would go a long way toward explaining why they would have access
before just about anyone else. Would also affect the price. John relayed
the story about them traveling to Dearborn and being put up by Mopar
while they were eyeballing some of the new hardware being
released(including the PCMs). Being the largest dealership gives him a
direct line to the head honcho at Mopar, etc.

Accuracy of the story doesn't matter if they can deliver the goods. I'm
anxiously awaiting a phone call tomorrow or I'll call them.

So, on a related note, if anybody is in the market for a JetII chip for
a '98 5.2L Auto, it's $125 and you can get me via private email:-)

Bob
